Al the problem you will run into is that box assumes a common 12 line for all fuses. The schematic shows the main as a separate line. My fear would be the main wire is not large enough for the current load of all 4 lines. It already can get rather warm.

I understand what you are saying Bill but from what I picked up from the schematic ( And I could be wrong ) the 3 brown wires are hooked together and not connected to the fuse block they get the power from the ignition switch, The other ends of the 3 brown wires R/Y R/W R are connected to the fuse block along with the main in and out that gets power from the battery. From what I can see instead of having all 3 brown wires hooked up separately on the block I am tying them together and hooking up the other end the the block.

Exactly. I used the one Chacal sells and the gasket for under it to make it a bit moisture proof. The lid on it has a gasket. I bought the 6 position and carry a spare 20 and 10 amp fuse there. If I ever add an option I can use these spaces too.

I also go the wire extensions as my wires had been hacked too short. Makes a nice neat installation

I went out today to my local Lewis marine store and bought that same one. Works great. Decided after talking to Bill my otherone would not work with this app.

This is exactly the solution I'm looking for. :) I'm actually on a borrowed 750 Maxim (my Dad's; he no longer rides it since he bought a HD) - I was recently T-boned on my Ducati (totaled) so while I'm rebuilding it, I'm clearing all the cobwebs out of Dad's old Maxim.

He blew through the last battery awful fast, so we put a new in and I went about checking the charging system (looks good - 14.5v steady while idling). I looked into the fuse panel, and while checking the fuses ... one side of the headlight holder snapped in two. I jury-rigged it w/ a zip tie to tide me over, but ideally I'd prefer to swap the whole panel for standard fuses instead of the little barrel fuses.

Can I find something similar to the one pictured in any automotive/marine store?

    Thanks in advance!

14.5V sounds quite high while idling, if I am not mistaken it should be more like 13 at idle and 14.5ish at higher RPMs. I think the regulator rectifier might be shot and is basically cooking the battery at higher RPMs.

Good to know; I'll double-check. 14.5v might've been while revving it (it was almost 1am when I was checking it, after a couple hours of horsing around w/ the bike, so I was getting a little fuzzy).

    Thanks for the heads up!

Wouldn't be nice to have a battery gauge up in the cluster so you could keep an eye on that part of the system.

I know the cluster that Fitz got for his 550 has one. Has anybody found something that looks nice and not too far out of place to install on our XJ's
