I have an 85 yamaha maxim that has been in my garage for years. It ran good when it ran. Is it worth parting out or just sell outright for around 500 bucks?

You can certainly part it out and make good money but it takes time and is a bit of effort. If you can find someone to refurb it and get it back on the road that would be better.

There are many of us that enjoy rescuing the bikes.

It seems that the problem with parting it out is the shipping costs.

I have to agree with Bill, find it a good home with someone that will refurb it and give it life again. The moneys good if you part it out but I think the shipping would kill a lot of profit.
