Nightmare Electrical Problems

    Ive just converted my xj550 to a twin headlight setup and ditched the indicators for some very small ones. Unfortunately the bike no longer starts !

    I have checked all circuits and cant find any physical fault! I have current to the starter, the relay etc and when I depress the electric start i also get current, but there is nothing. Every now and again the electric start works once and then thats it.

    The clutch switch wire has broken off now, would this have anything to do with it? The fact that now and again the electric start will work tells me that it isnt related.

    I could really do with some help with this one as I am not really electrically skilled enough to find this fault.

    Clutch wire will only effect starting in gear. I'm not sure of the location of the safety relay on the 550s - perhaps it has a loose connection?

    The relay is located under the fuel tank in between the coils. everything seems OK with it so far as I can tell.
