Its been 13 years since I got my 750 Seca on the road. Well she is on the road took her out for about 15 miles she runs good idles smooth. 45 minutes after getting back home my pipes are cool but the 2 big side covers on the side of the engine are still very hot, I dont remember if this is normal, but compared to my 1100 VSTAR it isnt right. I would think that if the engine is over heating she would run bad. What do you think?

    Is this normal.

On 2 wheels... just lost my hat.
you gotta remember that the headers will dissipate heat a lot faster than other areas. the metal isnt as thick and dont have connecting parts to them other than the head.
the entire mass of the engine sits at the head and below. the head has fins to move heat away, but the case does not.
I am going to move my bike into the garage in a few and I just got done riding... I will check it out and post what mine does

MN I should say the whole lower part of the engine. Thanks Hlemet. It may not be anything. Am I correct in saying that if I was running real lean it would be running bad? I thought lean would make the engine run hot. But Ithe enigne is running smooth. First time I had this bike over 80 in 13 plus years and I had to back off since I am so use t a heavy bike. I will post pictures of my finished project Sundaywhen the wife gets home with the camera.
