 I should have done this 2 weeks ago. My name is Roy. My nic here is: Roys85XJ700. I just traded and old Kenedy toolbox for a 1985 XJ700 Maxim about 2 weeks ago. I cleaned the carbs with the help of MadMaxim85. The bike runs but needs some adjustments, and since I was disabled for about a month (with no money coming in) have decided to tear down the bike and re-condition it. I want to make sure all the bolts and screws and everything is in tip top order and I really want to paint it.

So far I have been fascinated with this site. It is very informative and I believe there is no problem with finding answer to any problem that might arrive.

    Thanks again
    Roy

Welcome Roy! Welcome to XJBikes and welcome to the world of Yamaha Maxims.

My primary bike is no longer my 650 Maxim but I still follow this site nearly every day. The guys on this site are absolutely the best(tennsouthernbell too!). You will never find a site with a more knowlegeable and helpful group of folks.

On 2 wheels... just lost my hat.
welcome to the site! just a few months ago, I was new to this place and dumb as a bag of hammers when it came to working on these. These guys are amazing at offering up advice to help out.
these bikes are becoming rarer every year, and sites like this and guys that are passionate about them keep them alive.

This is the place to be, welcome! I think I'm not only speaking for myself when I say I know I would be lost without this place, you're in good hands. It's a great group of folks with a TON of knowledge about these bikes, and an open, friendly, willingness to share it.

Hello and welcome, you've got a good bike, and with proper upkeep it will last until you give it to your kids.
