One of my friends dropped off this bike at my place tonight. it looks to be all there but the tail light lens is broke. The question is should I just part it out or should I see if it will run. I know the carbs are full of brown goo and the battery is toast. What would you guys do? Oh I forgot to say there is no title & no keys.

Get it going... Take it for a ride and then decide :)

Not sure how good the brakes are. The tires are cracked pretty good on the side walls. It has a nice king queen seat and sissy bar/ Luggage rack. It also has a Vetter fairing and no key for the locked compartment. I looked in the other side and found most of the pieces of the tail light. I suppose I could take the ignition out and see about getting some keys made. Not sure how hard the carbs are to get off on this bike. They are going to need some TLC for sure. I can't see the battery. Not sure how the side covers come off, I wouldn't want to break them. If they are like Maxim side covers they would be worth something. The odometer says 24,000 miles. I tryed the kick starter and the engine turns over.

It's really going to come down to if you want to do the work or not....

It's sounding a lot like a part out but if you want to make a few bucks on it then it's worth more running.

Last wreck I got that was way beyond repair I sold complete not running for $18 lol

I suppose I could pull the carbs and clean them up and see if it will run. I would need to make some keys for it also. I see it has the big Mikuni carbs on it similar to my 1100's

The key will need to get made first so I can unlock the seat to get it off so I can pull the tank. Not sure there is any other way to do it.

You could try and pick the lock.... Being as old as it is & most likely worn, shouldn't bee too difficult to open

After checking this bike over I'm going to get a key made and pull the carbs and see if I can get this thing running. If it runs I think some one here might want to pick this one up its way too complete to part out. I will post some pics here when I figure out how to get my photo bucket to work.

If it was a 77 I'd ask how the forks tubes looked :)
Looking to score a pair of 35mm tubes cheap :)
