so i was just wondering if i remove the stock setup completely on my 650 if that will have any effect on the bike as far as the electrical system goes. I'm not planning on running either one

On 2 wheels... just lost my hat.
I dont think it matters either way. the speedo is mechanically driven off of the gear and front tire. the tach receives impulses from the sensor. neither of them give off a signal of their own that would impact any downstream relays.

I cant see why it wouldn't be okay.

The speedo runs the turn signal auto-cancel. If you don't have/want the auto-cancel, deleting the speedo won't hurt.

However, in addition to the auto-cancel feature being lost, you'll also be losing the oil level warning light, neutral light, signal & high beam indicators. Some jurisdictions may not safety the bike if you don't have them -- check and decide for yourself of course.

Electrically, no - removing them does nothing.

i'm actually keeping those. just rewiring to a little neater, more modern cluster.

i found a small little speedo from jcwhitney that will work with the stock drive cable, so i'm set. i dont need the tac. thanks for the info
