oil change question

    I'm going to change oil on my xj 750 can I run a 20w/50 castrol or valvoline automotive type oil...or does it need to be a cycle oil ? ,any suggestions on best oils and weights and what the hell is a litre...how many quarts with filter thanxz guys ...this site is Awesome

    I used Valvoline 20-50 Racing Forumula in most of my bikes until Valvoline put out a Motorcycle specific. Now I use that. Personally I think Motorcycle specific oil works best. JMOOC

    I used Castrol GTX for a while, now I'm using Shell Rotella T. Just be sure the bottle doesn't say it contains "friction modifiers", and you're good.
