I have seen chrome covers on the ends of the airbox where the arrow is pointing

I know I have seen pics of some 650's with them on. Here's the question....Does anyone know if these chrome panels will fit on the 750 Maxim airbox?? I have noticed on my stock airbox that there are 2 small screw holes on the top of the box in this area like something was mounted there at some time. Anyone know where I can find a set of these to try out?!!? Thanks guys!

p.s. here's a pic of a bike with them on..

They will fit if you "force" them on, but they won't fit very well.

The 750 airbox is wider than a 650 in that area, AND the "slant-back" angle of the airbox is different. So the 650 covers would have to be "forced" in place and a couple of new screw holes drilled in the upper area where the 650 end caps attach to the end caps. BTW, the 650 end caps use screws at the top only; there is no lower screw used to secure them to the airbox.

I also have a airbox question. I just purchased a 1985 XJ700X and on inspecting it more closely I found that the air tubes coming out of the airbox were just pushed up against the carb tubes with srew type hose clamps just kinda holding it there. Can anyone tell me how they should be conected properly? thanks :D
