I put All Balls Racing tapered steering head bearings in mine. Don't know the specs, but they were about $50 from my favorite bike shop.

Progressive springs require a 1.5" spacer after they are installed, which can be cut quite quickly and accurately from the stock spacer with a cheap pipe cutter. The stock oil amount for the forks is 238cc. The new springs are thicker than the old, so about 10% less oil is required. I just put in 200cc per leg and called it a day. I felt the front end was a bit too slack still, so I put in the longer length of the original spacers. I am now a bit oversprung, but MILES better than stock. I have a set of taper bearings here for it as well which I bought off of partsnmore. Turns out, the bike had tapered bearings in it already, so I didn't put them in. I'd like to find a good Telefix fork brace to steady up the front end though. By far the best mod for the front end was a set of braided brake lines and an aftermarket XS1100 brake master cylinder from PartsNMore. Not a cheap mod, but well worth it. One finger braking if I feel so inclined.

Thanks for the tips on Progressive springs...I take it that perhaps a 1" Spacer might be ideal??? As for the neck bearings I got the All Balls set, and I will post the bearing I.D. #'s ASAP....In addition I have acquired the very difficult to find right muffler for an '82 Seca Turbo, but its missing the end cap(!!!!????) If anyone has same I'd sure like to acquire it.

1" spacer would be shorter than what's called for, leaving you with a softer front end. Mine is currently around 2", and a bit too stiff.
