I am trying to turn a 1993 XJ 600 s into a street fighter motorbike and i would like to ask two questions.

    1) I'd Like to fit an R1 fuel tank as the shape of the tank is very appealing to me and my question is will any yamaha tank be adjustable to any yamaha frame such as the XJ 600 s? if not then what would be the necessary steps to make it fit?

    2) i would also like to have a single swing arm fitted on therefore is there any yamaha single swing arm that can be ideal to fit straight onto my frame? I would also like to have a bigger tire on the back and believe that most swing arms come in a standard size 190 tires so if i was to have anything larger than that what would the necessary steps be?!?!?!?

Doubt most YZFRx parts will fit our bikes without serious fabrication and/or modification. Except the oil cooler :)

You may want to check this place out if you havn't already.

    Pretty knowledgeable bunch.

There's like 2 Seca2 fighters there. eventually I'll have my Seca2 project there as well.

    edit:
    Quick search for 'fightered xj600's

    1) An R1 tank will not be a bolt on fit. Mounts will need to be modified to suit - and it simply may not be possible.

    2) Yamaha do not make a single sided swingarm. Honda and Triumph are the only ones (OK, BMW too.....). If anything will be suitable, probably the Honda NTV650 (Superhawk???) as it runs a smaller rim than the VFR or the Triumphs. Again, will not be a bolt on - many modifications to fit.

Have a search over here (if you haven't already):

Do a search on XJ600's - there's a few builds over there, but not quite as ambitious as yours.

    Good luck with it

DUCATIS ALSO RUN A SINGLE SIDED SWING ARM.

    Oops - you're right

Then again, a Ducati SSWA would cost more than the entire donor bike....
