Here is how it's looking as of yesterday.

The springs for the seat were taken from the shocks that were removed when I hardtailed it. It is actually a smoother ride now than it was before I made it rigid. I also put those shorty mufflers on yesterday. I am waiting on some risers so I can throw drag bars on. Hopefully this week if I win the ebay auction.

Can some one point me in the right direction for getting a fender on the back? I see some decent ones on ebay but I don't know how wide it should be? Do you measure the width of the tire or the width in between the frame where the fender goes?

Use the stock fender, trimmed down so just the metal part is used. It'll cover till about 12 o clock position or so. You'll have to fill in the holes for the tail light mounts though.

I don't have the stock fender, the bike was missing a bunch of parts when I got it.

I love the black and chrome look! Have you thought about adding a pinstripe or accents to the lines of the tank?

Just like leadboots said trailer fenders are cheap and plentiful. Plus you wont feel bad when you cut them up to look how you want it.

Awesome lookin bike Mike! I love the seat sping idea!
Would you be willing to post up some closer pics of the front rear seat mounts?
I am workin on an 1100 right now (check my thread if interested) and may want to swtich to somethin more like what you have for the seat, it does look a lot more comfortable!

Love the shorty exhaust too, looks great! Where did they come from?

I used a stock 650 fender for the rear fender on my bobber. Just welded a mount to the cross bar on the frame in front of the rear tire. Its not very functional there, but it gives a cool shorty look.

    Keep up the great work!
