82 XJ750 Seca Went out for a ride yesterday and put a 100 miles on the bike and decided to check the plugs this morning. The 2 plugs on the right were wet with gas and the 2 on the left were wet but not as bad. The bike starts great in the morning, Idles a little rough till it gets warmed up then it is smooth. I noticed when I shut the bike down after the first 50 miles and tried to start the bike it took a bit to get it going and had to turn the throttle to get it started. I did nothing to the carbs other than sync. If the bike sits for a couple of hours it starts great.

On 2 wheels... just lost my hat.
if they are wet after sitting, it could be a petcock issue.

I never put the petcock on prime. Your saying the fuel could be leaking through the petcock even on run. I did take off the line one time to replace it and did not notice any gas coming out. If the petcock was faulty and leaking gas would I not have a problem starting in the morning, I don't know I guess I could check it again.

OK, took off the fuel line and does not look like it is leaking, I left it off only a couple of minutes. I took the bike out for a short 5 mile run and parked the bike for a hour or so to let it cool down and pulled the plug and it was dry. I did notice around the base of the plug (bottom of the threads it was black) but the plug center was very clean, almost looked to clean, I was hoping for a tan color. Anything else I should be looking at. When the weather cools down a bit I will pull the carbs for a rebuild but I was curious why I had wet plugs in the am. Just a note I just changed the oil last week and there was no gas in the oil.
    Thanks.

The black ring aroung the plug indicated that you fuel mixture at idle is rich. My plugs looked like that , I found some information this weekend that showed me how to read the plugs in more detail. Check your idle mixture settings.
