    i heard you can use a ford solonoid and wire up your own?what of the other parts,rectumfire or the gironator? hahahahahaha! no but seriously are they stock from the bike or aftermarket,will this work with elecronic ign.?how? convert to points?

    I don't see why the Ford solenoid couldn't function. It is electrically the same and performs the same function. Heck, there are conversion kits to use them on GM automobiles, that should be a ringing endorsement of their design. Just remember you need to hook up the primary and secondary lines exactly the same as you would your stock solenoid. I'll post a picture in my gallery, hold on a few minutes. Problem is that I think I remember a three posted Ford solenoid as well. I would avoid them if you can since I can't remember which terminal is what (sorry, VW and Pontiac family tree. I was the black sheep with two Mustangs and a Galaxy 500).

    l ive got the wires figured out..all i need is electronics parts to sew it up. I hope to use mikes xs...seems to have it all. Ill try to finish it b-4 spring,maybe see what what all you guys do for fun up there in canada!L8tr.ride on!ride hard,ride free!

    I almost used a Ford solenoid on mine, until I found it was the battery and NOT the solenoid. The only problem with using the Ford solenoid is the stud for the +battery cable and the one that goes to the starter, are 1/4" and you'll have to get bigger connectors or drill yours out to fit.
