'83 maxim side covers

    Hi everybody, i have been looking for side covers for my '83 xj750, with not much luck other than people wanting way too much for them. If anyone either has some (preferably black or maroon) or knows where I can get some for fairly cheap please let me know. Thanks , kyle

    I happen to have two maroon covers, left and right if you are interested. They are from a 1980 but I'm pretty sure they are the same as the 82 (Chacal, tell me if I am wrong) PM me if you are interested, I'd probably let them go for $20 plus shipping.

    Tiki.......1980 never had a 750 Maxim, they may be from a 650 Maxim (?) and those will not fit a 750 Maxim.

    The 750 Maxim side covers have a rather thick, cast aluminum triangular outer "bezel" that surrounds a smaller, triangular painted plastic insert......very unique in the XJ world (actually, very similar but not the same as the XJ1100 side covers).

    I just picked a project '83 XJ750 and the PO had the side covers stored in his house and presented them to me as if they were the Crown Jewels.
