Ok...so I have been working on tweaking my carb after the rebuild. The bike runs good with good throttle response, but it smells like it's running rich so I am going to colortune when I get the time and $$. ok..on to the issue...
I have had this happen about 3 times now. It doesn't matter if it's idling or I'm giving it throttle, it will just die like someone hit the kill switch. When I try to restart ...no go. I'm getting no spark. Come back 5min later, she fires right up sometimes. Other times I have to wait as long as 1/2 hour. No consistency in when it will die or how long have to wait. This is with the bike sitting on the center stand.....wtf?!!? I have also noticed that sometimes when I am trying to restart, the starter solenoid will just click, try it again and it turns over.
I checked all my grounds and they all look good...no broken wires that can find...any ideas?!?

if it's not a bad connection anywhere, then the starter solenoid itself; however it sounds like a classic fusebox or wiring problem.

+1 on fusebox. replace it even if it looks "fine".

Also, could be the TCI or the TCI connectors... when the bike dies, turn off the switch, wiggle the TCI connectors and gently tap on the TCI itself with the blunt end of a screwdriver. Then try starting again.

^^What they said. If it's a stock fusebox, chop that turd out of there and replace all with some blade type fuses of the same rating. I read a How to on this site (maybe possibly Gamuru's) that took me through it start to finish. I had similar issue to yours before this fix and have never had a problem since and it has bee about a year since I did the repair. I ride almost daily in all weather conditions.

Get rid of the Original Fuse Box. You're way past due on that.
Shoot some Cleaner of WD-40 in the Kill Switch and Ignition.
