    No. IN - EX
    #1 .11 .15
    #2 .11 .18
    #3 .08 .16
    #4 .12 .16

Need to swap shims on EX. #1 and IN #3.

I suppose this doesn't explain my lean issues.

Although, plug #3 was always a little black? Thoughts?

    Have you balanced the carbs?

sooty/black means rich, so tweeking of the adjustment screw adjacent to the offending carb might sort it, what are the other plugs like?. You'll need to balance again after the new shims are place any how!

I'm checking my clearences tonight......gonna follow air head valve adjustment thread.......any tips?

Are you going to change your shims yourself? and do you have the removal tool?

All but carb #3 are lean. Bone white insulators.

Does the sync of the carbs effect the mixture?
Since #3 is fine, maybe I bench sync'd all of the other improperly?
    (I did the paperclip method)

    Tips?
Find a set of minutely incremented feeler gauges for more accurate measurements.

I've removed the out of spec shims already.......using the Zip Tie method. Worked great actually.
