How much should it cost to have the frame chopped and converted to rigid? I moved from NY to Fl a couple months ago for school so I dont have any friends with their own tools and garages down here, but I want to get this bike bobbed out asap, which unfortunately means I'm going to have to find someone to help me out. How tedious is the process with an xj750 and how much can I expect to put into it? I traded two guns for the bike, and have plenty more to spare so if anyone wants to help ill throw you a rifle, bow or pay ya. Thanks guys.

are you planning on this being your daily ? might think twice about going rigid, hard on the back. try running struts for a little while and see if you like it first before you commit....

This is my second bike, my other was an 84 suzuki gs 450 bobbed w/ struts. Ive been riding for years and have ridden a variety bikes. It just doesnt have the same stance as a rigid. I was riding my brothers Harley Rocker C for a bit when he was in Israel and the rigid frame didnt bother me at all. I miss having a bike that stands out feels mean. Bobbed Maxims have a unique look and style that love.

Ha. Ya, I looked that up after I posted that. Jokes on me.. Sneaky f***s. But, nonetheless I had struts on my gs450, and it still didnt give me the stance or smooth lines I was looking for. Any info on how much it would run me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

Not sure where you are going to school. Maybe try to find some tuner car guys. They might have an idea for you. You might also find an independant MC shop that has a following on weekend mornings. Might be able to get referrals this way too.

Does FL have laws re: altering frames? Safety inspections etc.?

You know the marine industry down there has qualified welders. Make a call or two. If they don't want the job they might tell you who will.

    Good luck with your project.

Out of state titles require a visual to confirm the VIN, no other inspection or insurance- - except getting pulled by the Highway Patrol for improper lights, excessive noise, bald tires. . .

Basically build anything you want, but get your tag/title now.
