    Totally eye-popping!

One question: do you phone ahead for the stop lights?

I just couldn't trust the XJ rear brake that much.

Wow, now THAT is some rake!!! And believe it or not, I usually don't like bikes raked out that much, but that one looks just right. Beautiful bike man.

Only thing I would suggest is do something with the pipes. I've always though it just looks too unfinished to just have header pipes, not to mention it probably sounds like poo... Nice bike though!!!

For my upcoming XJ chop project I've been considering using a swingarm from an XS850, that way I'd get the disc brake rear wheel, and running no brake on the front. HD chopper guys do it all the time, but I'm still a bit worried about what happens if that one brake goes out. Kinda nice to have a redundant system I guess.

hell i guess you could always just down shift and hope that slows you down..The coolest looking front brake assembly that i have found is like the ones that they use on those mini choppers, its like $200 for everything all chrome..thats probably what i will do depends on how many close calls i get without a front brake once i wet myself a few times i will break down and shell out the money...people have been runnin with no front brake for a long time though, im not saying its the brighest thing to do but im not the shiniest marble in the sack anyways..

    I love it.
Maybe a radical candied pearl flame job.
Radical paint on a plain bike can make it.
Radical paint on a radical bike is RADICAL!
    You'll have to excuse me.
I'm trying to learn to airbrush so I've been kinda stuck on paint lately.

The paint job that is on it is just spray can flat black and some harvest gloss orange..I have never seen a tank painted with teardrops on the sides and a flame down the middle..Just a backyard beer drinkin paint job..

Man, I'd love to get a chance to hear those pipes like that. That's kind of what I've been considering doing down the road for my bike, but not sure how I'd like the sound of them.

are the modifications you made, completely off the original frame? the tank and the center setup (beneath seat) look stock, same as rear springs and such.

have you got any diagrams or details on how you went through this?

also - notice that you've got it set up for straight pipes. this is something i've been toying with in my mind for months, but have not found any resources or experience on the tuning/jetting of the carbs to accomplish this w/o blowing the headers.

basically...if only for me...could you give a stage by stage description of your refit? please? thanks.

I'd be interested in more detail on the rear fender myself.

The whole chopper thing is not my cup of tea but it is a nice look for the XJ.
