bit off a bit more then I could chew at one time, was overhauling persay my 81 xj650, put it on supports and removed tires, did fork seals and front brakes and put new handlebars, but I started with the choke signal switch, found a broke wire that led to my problem with signals..well long story short...I disassembled to clean and fix..and forgot how to put all back together..I am almost there...anyone have pics. or can take a moment to crack theirs open and just photo the top and bottom..would be a lifesaver..thanks need to solder the wires back by the way so that is a major part there.

ummm... there ain't no such thing.

Are we talking about the clutch lever safety switch, which plugs in on the left side handlebar cluster/clutch lever perch?

I think he means the innards of the turn signal switch.

Make sure you get Genuine Yamaha blinker fluid !

Insert a comma after choke & it all makes sense.

my bad yes...I mean the left handlebar switch assembly, where the choke, horn, turn signals and headlight switches reside...I think I have almost everything right except I don't know where this little rectangle copper piece goes, the piece has a rectangular cut out in the middle. Besides that I need to figure what wire gets soldered back where...fun fun

    thanks yall for the help

It wasn't a month ago. Thats a complete pull apart, clean and in some cases resolder.

I lost the pics (before and after) from that job, so I just pulled it and shot the above. But thanks for the complement Robert.

P.S. The right side control looks just like it too.
