So, I'm putting new tires on my Maxim 650, and I was wondering if anyone might know if I can put a little wider tire on the rear, strickly for aesthetic purposes? If so, what size do you know of?

Good question...I have an XJ900 with a standard 120 rear tire. I'm wondering whether a 130 size (slightly wider) tire will fit on the rear. It'll clear the swingarm on the right side but I have my doubts about whether it'll clear the swingarm/shaft drive on the left hand side.

My understanding is that 120 is the widest that can be fitted.

Well, I currently have a 130/80-16 on now, and all clearances are good. I just want something that looks a little more "squat" back there to go along with the fender size I am using.

wizard and redcentre are talking Seca's....

You might get a 140 in there, but it won't really make it look that much fatter IMO.

I have a 130 on my 900, it fitted no worries.
