1982 XJ 1100 cant get out of gear

    Has anyone else had this problem? I need a manual, have searched this forum and many others. I can find the XS but not the XJ, is there a difference? Bought this bike and it was stuck in second gear. I thought maybe it was the clutch, but after taking the clutch out the gear shift will not come out of second gear.

    i read somewhere on this site or vintage motorcycle owners group
    (vjmog) about a condition where the shift fork breaks and locks you
    in gear. if you've already checked the archives, then go to vjmog and check there.
