ok im making my maxim into a bobber and its all done but the vacuum line has no where to go since i changed the tank, i plugged it and tried to start it and no fuel seemed to come through the line do i have to have a petcock with a vacuum line or is there another way? i also have a fuel filter on my gas line and no fuel seemed to be going through, i didnt change anything else but its a different gas tank and i have carb filters instead of an airbox

If you're not getting gas to the carbs, it aint gonna start. What tank are you running? You should have a petcock and set it on prime then try again. I would use the old tank and hook that up just to get fuel in there.
Souds like something is clogged up or not allowing fuel to go down to the carbs.

It should not matter as long as you plugged it so that it is not pulling air. Now that still leaves the problem of getting gas to the carbs. Since you do not have the vacuum hose hooked up, you are going to have to make sure that you have a good system that uses gravity to get the gas to the carbs. Hope this helps.

On the tank you are using, if the petcock isn't vacuum operated it should be gravity fed. Does the tank sit far enough above the carbs for fuel to flow down?
