Could someone tell me the dates the tires were manufactured? The front tire is a Bridgestone Spitfire 21 the production number is PAB 427. The rear is a Bridgestone Spitfire 11R production number is PCE 0401.

    Hi there!!!!
I am a tire distributer and there should be a DOT with 4 numbers usually lets say DOT 0401 would be the tire was of the production line the fourth month of 2001. The 4 numbers will appear in a oval stamp in most cases.

Don't you mean week and year? I have always known it to be the number of the week of the year. Matter of fact, the current tires on my Maxim say 2500 and 4700. Yes I know they are old, but they are in perfect shape and don't lose air, so...

I was also looking at some tires on an R6 a bit ago, trying to get the seller to lower the price on the bike because even though the tires had plenty of tread left, they were dry rot cracked along the sidewalls. I was pointing out to him that the inspector wouldn't let me fly with those tires and that they were made in the 37th week of '01(3701).

    I don't believe we have a 25th, 47th, or 37th month in a year.

I'll just mention again that my 2 year old Avon's are cracked on the sidewalls like 6 - 7 year old tires , and the Avon lady won't return them.
