    The nominees for "Most thrilling Go-Kart ride" are;

    Kartvader: The Fast and Flagrant, on the street, under the cover of darkness ...

    and, GSZRkart: Dodging orange cones.

    And the winner of Most Thrilling Go-Kart ride is ...

    KARTVADER !

    I used to race a TZ250 powered Superkart, on our home track it was good for 137mph and other guys with the same engines could run low 11 sec 1/4 miles

    even the top road race bikes GSXR1000 can't beat them around the track

    I don't believe a 250 powered kart could ever do 137mph! I don't believe it could ever do 100mph! How would that be possible?

    The TZ250 is a racing two-stroke motor, so it's got plenty of power. A racing go-kart only weighs about 150lbs or so, so with a lightweight rider, an aerodynamic body, and the right gearing, I could definetly see it doing that.

    Says on the website it's a 125 6speed shifter cart at around 104mph. It also says it's from Quebec.

    OMG, what reckless behavior, what a total disrespect for the law, the physics of nature and for ones own well being.........

    Does anyone have their phone numbers, I'm wondering if they would sell either one, well you know for further research on the whole disrespect thing.

    It's called a better drag coefficient, and your average motorcycle has about the same CD as a brick. It also has about the same total drag as a car.

    A well-tuned 250 two stroke will reliably produce ~ 100HP...and a 100 hp bike will easily get over 125mph. 140 is easily do-able, unless you're making too big a crater in the air. Current 125 GP bikes (~40hp) approach 150 at the longer tracks.

    Your average super-duper bike will also be completely humiliated by almost any kart at a racetrack, even though the bike will generate a much higher top speed. 250cc Superkarts at Laguna Seca turn the same lap times as the 990cc MGP bikes did.

    If you're slick enough, you can generate some serious speed without much engine. Unless it's been beaten, NSU holds the 50cc bike record at almost 122 mph, set in 1956.

    Getting back on topic, you should get the KartVader CD. It's a giggle.

    Fork in the road... :D
