This may sound like a daft idea, but i'm thinking of increasing the size via drilling.

    Two reasons;-
    1. Everywhere is on christmas shut-down here & I want to 'have-a-go' whilst i'm not using the bike for work.
    2. £££! I know jets aren't big bucks, but if i can save a penny, i will!

Does anyone know the relevance of the numbering of the jets?
    i.e. does 100 = 1mm
    does 120 = 1.2mm
    does 130 = 1.3mm etc

I currently have 40 pilots and 100 mains.

    any info will be appreciated.

I wouldn't get-out the Number Drills and enlarge the Original Jets unless I had a "Spare" or "Back-up" set of the "Correct" Jets that have not been altered.

This INDEX is a Cross-Reference for MotorCycle Jet Sizes as they Cross-Ref to:

Numbered Drills <>Lettered Drills <> Fractional Drills:
(Drill SIZE / Decimal INCH / Metric MM / Size JET)

    1.10mm - 0.043 - 1.100 - 110.0
    1.12mm - 0.044 - 1.120 - 112.0

i use my carb drills often, take your time and keep the bit straight.

worst case is you need to buy the proper sizes should you screw up. no biggie.

Due to the christmas shutdown for shops here, I figured i'll give it a go! after all, if you've seen my other posts, it couldn't run any worse!!

I was advised for 128 mains, so i got a 1.2mm drill and did what i needed to! (figuring the drill will almost certainly cut oversize).

Still have a kitchen full of carb parts (+ motorcycle!!!!) so won't know whether it worked for a day or two.
The other 'mod' I was considering was shimming up the needle by 1or2mm.
Anyone able to advise on whetherthis will be required?

    thanks guys!
