You shouldn't have to swap the tripple tree. besides, the maxim triple tree has the openings for the forks a bit closer together, so your holes on the bottom wont line up with the uppers and your forks won't line up. Ask me how I know. LOL

At the most you can just swap risers (very easy to do) I don't see why you would even have to do that though. Both handlebars should be 7/8" so it should be a direct swap. just consider cable lenght if you're putting on a longer handlebar or a shorter one.

Dave, the '82 750 Maxim has the "infinetly adjustable" handlebars as used on the XJ1100 models, and they are "semi-high-rise" style.

The 1983 XJ750 Maxim uses the high-rise "buckhorn" bars like all XJ650 Maxim models do.

You could PROBABLY use the 1983 750 Maxim style bars with the 750 Seca upper steering bracket with little or no changes needed, EXCEPT that you control cables might be too short.........

The '82 750 Maxim crown bracket and hardware would need to be substituted if you wanted to use the '82 handlebars, BUT.......there may be some issues with the headlight bracket mount system on this swap. If I recall, the 750 Seca headlight bracket screws to the bottom of the steering crown bracket, correct? On the '82 750 Maxim crown bracket, those mounting holes will not be there........

So is there any way to swap out the 82 maxim 750 stock handlebars with drag bars? what can be done with that triple tree???? I just want to lose the stock bars and go with standard round drag bars - how do I do it? Anyone?
