Have an '86 Maxim 700. At about 60mph, noticed what felt like an unbalanced tire on front end. Faster or slower, it goes away. Running without a front fender, I noticed when slowing down that wheel appears to have a very slight wobble when watching wheel rotate in periphial vision of left front fork. No unusual noises such as wheel bearings. Do any of you know or ever have heard of these forged wheels bending or warping? Wheel itself appears to be in good shape. Tks..... Gil

Not without help (like somebody dropped the bike.)

Prop the front end up (a jackstand under the crossbar works quite well) and create a "runout gauge" using a Sharpie (marker) and some masking tape; spin the wheel and see how bad the runout is.

Max allowable (vertical or hoizontal) is 2mm.

Replace if out of spec. Make sure it's the RIM and not just a case of a tire that isn't seated evenly.

This gets my vote. Maybe someone could post a pic of the rim and bead?
    Besure to check both sides!

Your problem could stem from a few things. Check the fork bearings up at the neck, if they're lose, the wheel will wobble. Check for bad wheel bearings also. Warped diisc brakes will feel like a crooked wheel when the brakes are applied also. Cast wheels do not have a history of warping, unless your bouncing off curbs or using it as a dirt bike.
