I am in the process of polishing EVERYTHING on my bike. I took off the clutch lever and brake lever. I sprayed them down with aircraft stripper and while the clutch levers black finish just came right off while the brake seemed to be different? Thoughts? Thanks!

The fact that you actually got the finish off of the one is amazing since it is a plastic coating. But to answer your question, the reason that you could get the coating off the one is probably the PO broke or bent the original one and painted the replacement to match the other. Bravo on the polishing, I love making dull metal come alive with sparkle and shine.

Well - all that work seems like a bit much, when you can get brand new chrome plated ones for $20

Don't know if Chacal has the silver/polished ones, but Mike's XS has them for $10 each

Wait til you guys see this bike when I am done. EVERY aluminum part is being polished! And with that aircraft stripper, there is nothing that can hold up...well, until I got to this part.
