I bought a pretty beat up old bike and am in process of parting it out (see my other posts). I decided that this would be a good bike to test out the true power of Kroil (see other posts as well). So I decided to put some around the carb to intake bolts because I hear how hard these can be to get off and to be honest, the ones on this old bike are darn near PERFECT so I put Kroil on them and let them sit for about 24 hours....I just got done taking the bolts out with the greatest of ease. It was like they were hand tight. This is reason 102 that we all need to own GALLONS of this stuff in our shop/garages!! Give it a try guys!!

Kroil may be neat stuff -- I've got a small can of it myself -- but it's not a universal panacea. Where I work, there's this gearbox subassembly where I need to remove a drive gear from a shaft. Despite the liberal use of Kroil and a gear puller, that gear is NOT coming off.

I get the impression it's something similar to capillary action, but that's just a wild guess on my part.

Kroil is activated by Brownian movement and zero point energy.

I've personally not used the stuff yet, but you could have just been lucky. My bike was pretty neglected, and I got mine out easily with some PB and light taps on the end of an allen key for torque. I only waited about an hour after the PB because I got impatient. I'm not sure if there's any good way to know they're stuck until it's too late and they break off.

Does anyone on the site know where I can buy some "Kroil" here in Ontario, Canada? I called the -special offer- on "Google" and I was told "sure we can ship it to Canada, for $28.00 UPS cost. This was on top of the cost of the Kroil. All U.S. dollars of course. Just can't seem to find anyone here who stocks it in consumer -use size. Thanks for any help.

Mine came out easy to. Somebody had put the cap head screws in with copperslip.

I think there comes a time when the "Galvanic Corrosion" that seizes the Soft Steel cap Screws within the Aluminum Threaded hole becomes so severe that no penetrating oil will undo the damage.

The Galvanic Reaction binds the two metals.
