My bike recently has a starting issue .. It'll start 2 outta 3 times , then it'll just click once when try .. If I rock it in gear , then it'll start again ... I took the starter off , it looks great ... My lights are bright as h___ when I turn the key on ...
I'm not an electrician , so testing things greek to me ... Anyone else encountered this issue ????? If my battery was shot , lights would be dim & wouldn't start at all !!! I'm lost ....

    Pull the Starter.
    Undo the two long bolts.
Move the Aluminum Case out a bit until you can see the Brushes.
Don't pull the Brushes off the Commutator.
Get rid of all the Carbon Dust.
Shoot-in some Isopropyl Alcohol loaded in a Trigger Sprayer.
Keep shooting until all the Carbon Dust is washed away.
Keep spraying until what drips out is as clean as what you're spraying-in.
    Observe the Brushes.
    Replace worn-out (too short) Brushes.

Mine was the same. I dismantled my starter switch and cleaned the contacts with a bit of emery cloth. never had a problem since.

When I had the issue it was a combination of the button and the relay. Cleaning the button contacts reduced the frequency; replacing the relay (solenoid) fixed it for good.
