New to the site, great place, I have been looking for awhile now, anyone know where to get a set of horns for a Maxim X? Mine has some cheesy aftermarket ones that were on there when I bought it, saw some on ebay but its been awhile & I got outbid at the last minute (imagine that). Or has anyone found some aftermarket ones that resemble th e factory ones?

I got my bike from the original owner basically, he sold it to his neighbor who had it for less than a year & I bought it from him with 11K miles on it for $1500. I didn't think that was to bad of a deal, I'll post some pics of it soon.
    thanks all,

I have Fiamms on my XJ and the Stebel Nautilus on my Kaw Voyager. The Stebel is a self contained air horn with a very slight delay that the Fiamms do not exhibit. You can read my narrative on Stebel installation on the American Voyager Assn web site archive.

I consider this to be a safety item. Horns can never be too loud. Especially French Horns.

    Ride safe.

Stock Maxim X horns are extremely weak. I swapped out my stock horns for some Fiamms, and never looked back. Get some Stebel Magnum Blasters, as they are the last word in LOUD.

Yea ... The horns on the Max -- with that nearly no-db "Zeep-zeep" thing it's got goin' for it ... really blow. Not very loud. But they do blow.

There ain't much safety about 'em. They just seem to buzz a little bit louder than a vibratin' cell phone on a glass coffee table.

Until I upgrade the safety related sound emitting devices on my Max ... the horns will just serve to let me know the button is workin' OK.

I've installed a set of car horns on my 750 Seca from Harbor Freight, the red ones. You have to use a relay to power them but they are loud and sound like a car so you will get the other drivers attention.
