Well, is been a while since I was on here. Loads of work done over winter, but only essential stuff because ive had a pay cut :(

Managed to get the carbs rebuilt, upjetted and balanced to cope with the lack of silencer and the filter pods.

all she needs now is the MOT sorting tomorrow and I will be on the road again for the first time since about November last year.

Here she is on her maiden voyage (well on the dyno anyway)

Very nice. How did it run before you put it on the dyno? Did it make much of difference to have it dyno tuned?

It was running really badly actually, it was totally out of balance. I chopped the exhaust off just behind the footpeg and inserted a modified and shortened baffle. I also ditched the airbox, so the combination of the two made it run really badly.

My mate has totally stripped and rebuilt the carbs, upjetted it and balanced them as accurately as he could. The carbs are old so there is a little wear internally which cant be dialled out 100%, but he took it to 125mph on the dyno and it was still climbing at that, which is good enough for me.

It was smooth, and delivered a good torque. Im happy at that.

It was essential to buy the YICS tool though, it couldnt be done accurately without it.

looking forward to a ride out this weekend now !

Its a really good friend of mine that has the dyno. He did the run purely so i can guage its smoothness compared to what it was like before. 10 times better. I couldnt take it on the road because there is no MOT for it. Plus i just like the noise she makes....

MOT should be done later today so I can be off for a spin
