I am planning on swaping my forks with a pair for a 750 and wanted to know if this is going to be problematic? I am going to have them rebuilt with racetech springs and gold valves.

    Thanks,
    Bryan

Lots of 900 Guys scrap the Stock Front-end for "Something else."
The 900 Front end requires a lot of maintenance and tuning to give you a confident feeling in the squirms.

    Scrap the OEM Springs.

Get a set of Progressive Suspension Springs for it.
Add 2.5 cm's of Solid Preload.

Read some Front-Fort Tuning Information and replace the Nylon Slider with a Brand New one.
(You can add a thin band of Shim Stock behind the Nylon Slider to Tune-out the "900 Jitter" ... This takes some experimentation because too much Shim will cause "Stiction".

The Anti Dive Unit is TOTALLY Re-buildable and easier to clean than a .45 Caliber Automatic.

There is only 3 Parts including a Spring.
You simply need to extract the guts and clean the parts so that the small, chrome "Piston" will slide effortlessly within a Nylon Bushing.

(Failure to Clean and Flush the Forks and remove the Dive Unit for cleaning causes the Chrome Piston to stick and disable the Anti Dive Unit.

The Dive Unit has a Top Hat Dust Seal.
    It prize out.
The Main Body is heldl in place by a Circlip.
The Circlip is easy to remove.
The Main Body is PRESSED IN with an O-Ring surrounding the Solid Aluminum Plug.

Place a Deep Socket with a LARGER Inside Diameter than the Housing on to the Housing and Duct Tape the Socket to the Dive Unit after cleaning the Unit with Brake Kleen and lubing the Plug with Brake Fluid.

Impact the end of the Socket on the Flat platform of your Vice.
You'll feel the Parts move into the Socket and nothing will be damaged.

    Brake Kleen the whole thing.
    Roll-up a tight roll of 2000 Grit
Shine the Inside Diameter of the Nylon Bushing with 2000 Wet with Brake Fluid.

    Reassemble.
Use the recommended amount of a Heavy Fork Oil or Hydraulic Jack Oil.

    Go race somebody.
Lose them in the kinks, squirms and twisties.
