    Sup guys,
new guy here, just picked up an XJ 650 this past saturday for $300. It needs a little work to get it road worthy, but I plan on doing quite a bit of customizing because to be honest, this "style" left much to be desired. Plans are for a bobber style, different seat, hand bars, lose the fairing, some new lights.

TLC needs new brakes, battery, possibly tires (dry rot). I've been checking out the forums for a coupl hours now and it's a really nice place. I hope I can get rid of some of my stock parts to those restoring their bikes to factory specs.

Congrats on a wonderful bike purchase! (but I'm biased :D )

That fairing and seat look pretty cool - haven't seen them around before. Looks like you've got the MAC 4-into-1 exhaust, and the good 3 point engine guards too -- nice stuff.

    Altus,
The exhaust.... was that a stock option or just an aftermarket type? I'm just curious. I'm new to the whole bike thing.

PickupMan, that was an aftermarket item. Mac made, and still make aftermarket exhaust systems for the XJs.

    They have a 4 into 2 megaphone, and a 4 into 1.

Hey, that's an old Shoei FM2 fairing...
I snagged one a while back, works great, pain to mount :)
But it does have a dated look....

thanks for the info guys. I'm def a fan of the exhaust, I plan on keeping it, but wrapping it up. The fairing, I am taking photos of tonight and emailing them to someone interested. It's just not my style.

It wasn't THAT much of a pain to remove.

a little update if anyone wants to know. The battery needs to be replaced, won't hold a charge and the carbs are GUNKED up lol. Me and carb cleaner are going to become best friends over the next few days. I hope to have it running by the weekend.

Dang guys, you really like your fairings don't you? I took pics this morning and will post them up later tonight and email them to whoever wants them also.

I plan on hacking the seat up, but if someone wants to trade me a stock seat for this one, let me know. I'll get pics of the seat as well.
