carb cleaning is for the birds I'll tell ya.Friggin had to use a strap and rachet the carbs off the motor..
Do you guys leave the boots on the air box while pulling carbs off the front boots? Can't see that working. So I removed all 4 air box boots first. Cleaned and set things..now could not for the life of me get them sh*t carbs back on the boots on the motor.Had to rig rachet strap again to pull them in..then it was hell and a lot of swearing trying to get each individual air box to carb boots back on.This is an insane setup by Yamaha, there is not room or give there..had to friggin go nuts on each one,the inside ones were the worst. There has to be a better way.
Now I started the bike easily and now have gas dripping everywhere from the carbs.Well I lost it and the words were not fit to type on here.I know I screwed the 4 screws to each bowl enough to just seat it.I remember tightening the first bowl good and now I think I didn't tighten the other 3 bowls snug....so the gas is leaking from 3 carbs...
Then I find 3 small washers on the surface I was working on..I believe they go under the main jets...ahhhhhh!!! 8O  NOW I AM REALLY PISSED OFF>not my day today..not concentrating.
But the engine started easily enough..but now I have to take the carbs out again.....close to grabbing my hunting rifle and doing this bike in.

Will attempt it again tomorrow..I SUPPOSE!!! :( :x
I have someone coming down this week to look at the bike and this really pisses me off today..don't know what happened..not concentrating fully today for some reason.EVER HAVE ONE OF THEM DAYS!!! 8O

WELL got her all done today.Put the washers in under the pilot jets..also found on 2 float pins..the the little spring loaded arm on top of them were seized..so got them freed up.Bike starts great..fires on all 4 cylinders..choke works good to and no LEAKS today. So now it will be a cleaning and polishing that is left to do and hope the bike will sell... :D

ummmm...washers go under the MAIN fuel jets (like you mentioned in your previous post). It's in the center post, with the bigger number on it.
