550 maxim fuel filter?

    Hey guys, ive heard that the '82 550 maxim has a fuel filter connected inside the petcock , i just wanted some verification on this before i start taking apart my petcock, also cant find replaacement fuel filters anywhere. so if it does have one, where can i find a replacement? Thanks

    It's more of a screen, it's part of the petcock. You should think about adding an in-line filter for protection from the smaller bits.
