83 XJ750 FOR SALE, for parts or as a whole.

All, I have an 83 SECA 750XJ that I am selling. I cannot get it to run correctly and I am doing a major project around my house and cannot put any time or money into this bike to get it to run correctly. I am pretty sure it is the carbs, I can get it to start but it starts spitting and sputtering and does not generate the proper power.

I am really wanting to sell the bike as a whole but if I do not get any offers I will have to part it out. I am asking for $1000.00 as is. Before you judge that price read below and I think you will understand why.

The Good:
-Both front forks have been rebuilt with new seals.
-Both the front and rear tire are in very good condition. (Rear tire approx 1200 miles, Front tire approx 650 miles).
-Brand new windshield
-Newer gauge pod, everything works but the netrual light (it stays on all the time)
-Seat is in decent condition
-4 in one exhaust with a Jardine pipe.
-Plastic is in decent condition, side panels have a couple of ears that are broke and the front fairing has been repaired and is missing the covers for what I think is supposed to be a glove box.
-Gas tank was one I bought from a member on here, no bad dents and does not leak.
-Front and rear brakes work.
-Engine does burn oil, I have been adding about everyy 800 to 1000 miles.

Again, this bike can be bought as one or as parts. If I do not get any interest in a day or two start naming what part you want and what you are willing to pay for it. I think with a little tender loving care this could be a great bike for someone, I am just not going to be that person.

Parts are up for sale, if you need something let me know. I am working on getting it broke down in parts now.

The front fairing, and windshield have already been sold.

Gas tank is in great condition, probably could use the anti-rust coating on the inside but is in excellent condition on the outside.

The speedo is in excellent condition as well. I had bought it from a member on here last year.

The wheels will come with the tires and they are in very good condition.

The forks have just been rebuilt, I paid $150.00 for the dealer to replace the seals. Make me an offer.

Anyone need carbs?

FYI, the forks are the Anit-Dive forks and are in EXCELLENT condition!

Are your intake boots in good shape- as in not brittle or cracked?

I have an '82 XJ Maximb ut I believe the carbs, etc are identical?

They appear to be fine, I will take them off of the bike and let you know this evening.

Seat bags that fit well on the XJ, I dont think they are for the XJ but they make a good fit.

Sorry guys, I have not updated this for a day or so. Gas tank it gone, front master cylinder is gone. Pipes are most likely gone, I have not got 100% confirmation on that yet.

XOMBIE, as soon as I figure out what is going on with the pipes I will let the rest of the bike go for a price. There is still a lot a good stuff left on this bike.

do you have the head light relay? its just below the voltage regulator.

 

this thread is 5 years old. I am pretty sure the bike and all it's parts are long gone.
