oil filter conversion

    Hi guys im new to the xj family, I went to change my oil and found it almost impossible to get the housing(filter) off. I found you guys and seen that there has been some talk of a spin on filter conversion?? who makes it and where can i get one, this thing drove me nuts? oh btw, it a 1982 xj650 seca.

    Chacal has the adapter for a spin on filter. I have found that in cases where the original bolt won't come loose, an impact driver is the cat's meow. Every bike owner should own one in my opinion.

    The spin on filter kit is great.
    BUT...make sure you get the filters with the hex nut welded to the housing. It's much much easier to get them off.
    Len will fill you in.

    Or, you could do what the PO of my bike did. take the bolt to the grinding wheel and make it square. (no, don't really do that).

    there's a picture of one in my gallery,if you want to see what they look like, it's not the one from chacal but it's a very close copy
    i will be making another one for my Seca
