Kicking myself for selling my 600

Like most people I spent a bit too much bringing my XJ600 back to being roadworthy, at a time when I don't have any spare cash, and was offered almost what I put into it - nevermind all the hours spent in the cold dark garage and ferrying parts to work to overhaul.

I debated what to do and the final decider was checking the oil and looking in the filler cap to find "Mayonaise" collecting where the bike was not warming up properly.

Its new owner has got a decent long ride to work and I just wasn't doing the bike any favours. Having put all the hours in it wasn't an easy thing to do and I would like to think I have made some friends here on XJ bikes.
I have learned a lot, especially about Yamahas and am hoping to put that to use in the future.

Thankyou to everyone for their tips and advice over the last months. I will still be hanging around and maybe it won't be too long before my Avatar features a new project!

Ahhhh. ya daftie.

What a shame. I have had my XJ for years and love it to bits, couldn't bring myself to sell it. But if it's time to move on, well it's time!

These old yams are great bikes, but then here in the UK you can buy them for next to nothing. It's a pity that Yamaha replaced it with the Diversion (no-where near as much power and built to a budget standard).

Ah well, hope you get a new machine soon, and hope it's something cool.
