i just fab'd my new handle bars, but before, i noticed everything was crooked. the headlight pointed off into the woods on the right and the handle bars were cocked to the right. now with the new bars, i feel stupid. if i stand above the tree, i can look down and see a twist in the lineup, like someone's first attempt at using chopsticks. do i need to loosen all the bolts that clamp the tree to the tubes? do i need to loosen the large nut right between the handle bar clamps? and should i have support for the front end so when i loosen things so the front end doesnt slide down the tubes? apparently the po did something and didnt reassemble it correctly

I would loosen the large nut first and see if you can correct the issue from there. Nothing should fall apart if you only loosen and adjust.
