Hey everyone, I just have a quick question about the neutral switch located under the motor on the 650 maxim. If it leaking oil from there could that be from the unit itself or the gasket that is in between it and the engine?

from the pictures and diagrams i'm finding it doesn't appear to have internal parts or a hole for oil to flow through, just looks like a bolt with a gasket that has a screw in its head. Is that about right?

    Thanks

You are correct - it is a bolt with I believe a copper gasket under it. If it is not tightened, it could be leaking oil. I would check it with a pair of needle nose pliers (I don't think a socket will fit).

You can grind down a 14mm socket and thin it out a bit... It will fit then  (worked on a Turbo anyway)
