:?: As of this morning, I'm the new owner of a '81 Seca 550. It is complete, runs great, but the headlight is loose. It has the stock fairing / cowling and the previous owner said the rubber/plastic damper fell out because he put it in wrong. I have been trying all day to find where to buy a replacement. Even tried searching the forums for a couple of hours. Nothing... Yamaha has been sold out of them forever, so I'm hoping someone has a lead on an aftermarket damper.

    Part Number: 286872-001
Description: DAMPER (listed under Body and Fenders > Cowling menu)

    Thanks!

I don't understand... why are you looking for a Honda part number for a Yamaha?

Not sure where you live but Home Depot, Lowes and Ace Hardware are great places to find rubber parts that will work or can be modified to do the job. Get creative and think outside the box.
