my headlights arent working... i'm getting no juice to the bulb.. I tried tracing the wire back but I lost it in the stupid gauge cluster on the seca 750.... can anyone tell me the colors going into the cluster? the diagram on the PDF manual offers NO help at all...

The only electrical "stuff" i did was replace the fuse panel out to some buss fuses... one of those is a fuse for the headlight, right? I checked them all out and the one I think is for the headlights i just twisted toether for now to eliminate that as a problem... and help would be much appreciated, thanks.

Do you have a wiring diagram schooter? Its been a long time since I worked on a Seca but I think there is a headlight cutoff built into the starter button on the handlebar. It cuts off the headlight when you start the engine. My Xj1100 has one and it was a pain to find but a easy fix.

If yours is like mine, there won't be any juice to headlight until the engine is running and charging. Not running = no headlight.

unfortunately that is not the case.... after a 30 minute ride they still weren't on.. I really hate electrical work... ugghh, if worse comes to worse i'm just going to run a line to a power source that comes on with the key... and wire the brights to a different switch, lol, which i dont want to do

    In another Post you asked:
    "Should I get a girfriend?"
    Yes. You should.
One that know just twisting two wires together is a pretty lame way of beginning electrical trouble-shooting.

The Bike knows if the Headlight works or not.
The Panel runs a "Self-check" and lets you know.

    You NEED a TEST LIGHT.

This tells you YES or NO. It even BEEPS -- Yes!

ok- i pretty much figured out what this relay does... a wire fro mthe switch runs to the relay, the wire feeding that wiregoes to the fuses, now, what the relay does, is it has a ground wire, then another wire running to a diode block, which has a wire running to the starter switch... so all this must do is turn the lights off when the starter button is engaged... i can ride it for now eliminating that, but ill try and get a relay cheap at some point....

    phew.

Thanks for all the help guys, you're all dolls.

A relay is just a switch, like the starter solonoid, it is better able to cope with high amps.
