Digging through my parts stash I came across a alternator cover for an XJ700 (airhead) that I painstakingly polished up only to find out it was from an airhead and won't fit my X
While polishing I was wondering why I had never seen a smooth cover on an X and later discovered why...I does NOT FIT!

Anyway, it's only gathering dust on my shelf.
First $45 gets it on your doorstep. I'm not telling you how many hours I spent polishing this thing.
It's kind of hard to get a good photo!

I guess it's too shiny and will make everyone's engine look horrible.

Careful...them fins are there to dissipate the heat. The X puts out more amps than the airhead which apparently is the reason for the fin requirments.
Not saying you won't be OK, but I'd hate to see you toast a stator for lack of cooling....realistically, it can't make THAT much differnence since there isn't really a lot of airflow back there but the burn on my hand is evidence it does get HOT

haha...that first pic makes it look like it's got a bumpy matte finish on the top. But that's just your wall :p
