1984 xj750r was running sweet, couple of miles before I got home last night I turned the signal on and nothing, no brake light either, when I put the signal on and put the breaks on .. the tach stops working so as I turn the signal off tach works same with taking off the brakes. tach works..
So here is the break down and no Fuses blown.
no signals, no brake lights try either one tach stops working..
    no neutral light.
head lights work, high and low, rear running light works, elect start works, charging works.
    Could it be a ground?
Any help would be much appreciated...
    Thxs..

Have to wait until someone familiar with your bike answers...but fuse boxes and bad grounds are the usual culprits.

I see your fuses ar not blown but, did you take them out and clean up the ends and the terminals they plug into?? Be veeeeeery carefull when cleaning the terminals they break really easily(speaking from experience)
Ground issues makes sence too if the circut that the break and turns is on has a bad ground they will try to ground to the next easiest place mabey that place is your tack.
I haven't worked on a xj750r yet so my experience with them is low.

Sounds like maybe the flasher relay shorted or something.

It sometimes helps to actually meter the fuses, just don't do a visual...I've been fooled in the past by a bad fuse that "looked" good.

Yeah first check that 10A fuse, could be corroded. If it's all good and the connection tests strong (use a multimeter) you could also check the canceling unit and the flasher relay as I mentioned. Both are wired before the tach and could be grounding the power wire out somehow. That would also cause your neutral light to go out, even though the neutral light is wired before the other, current follows the path of least resistance. Just a thought.

Problem fixed, one of the wires came off the horn and was shorting out.. blew the fuse, really hard to see if it was blown since its been switch over to the newer fuses.. all ready to carve up some pavement...
Once again thanks for all the help from everyone..
