I am buying a 84 Maxim 750 that runs great ect. My question is how do they handle? I would be comparing it to my 86 V-Max I stupidly sold a few years ago. By the way,I've been trolling here some time, this is a very good forum with very professional and respectful people on it. Very nice.

No personal experience here with a V-MAX. Cleaned and tuned properly a 750 will SCREAM, but in a straight line and accelerating, I'm pretty sure the V-MAX would come out top dog. Might be the same story on on country roads, just don't know. Hopefully, you'll be pleasantly surprised. I know, how much I like the way my 750 runs and handles!!!

they call the xj700x the baby vmax, while these bikes wont lift up hte front end in every gear while burning out, i think you'll be pleased about the power, and they handle well.

Thanks guys. Baby Max..hmmm,interesting. I haven't rode it yet but it is/was a daily driver for the PO. I'll do the rear brake check and then see what I need to do with the rest. It had valves and sync done by Yama in 08.

    Thanks

i sold my vmax about 1.5 years back it was no handler for sure but the maxim should handle about the same. there is no comparing the 2 as far as performance . for those of you that think a maxim is fast i can tell you really havnt rode any of the newer sport bikes. they maxim is a really nice bike and is great for running around town . im sorry i sold my vmax but with all the work i had done and dyno work it cooked me when the weather was hot and the fan was on
