    Hi,

    I just bought a used 1982 Maxim??? XJ750 today.

The title only says XJ750 and the model number sticker is scratched in that spot from the near by cables...

If i provided a partial VIN number could someone help?

DUH - The side panel (plastic) says Maxim - Were there any other sub-model maxims?

Assuming its the original engine, the VIN should be stamped on the engine as well...

The sticker says it has a 16 inch rear rim, that would make it maxim. There is also a ID number stamped into the engine case on top of the clutch case. You can use this number to look up the specifics about your bike.

FYI: I can read the VIN sticker and it matches the title.

I'll have to find the vin stampings on engine tomorrow or later this week... To see if they match :)

17K miles and it seemed to run good when I bought it :) (MC noob but I took a risk on a good deal)

Thanks for the above link - I'll check my Engine's number later
But my Shorty Fork and Paper VIN match and my check number is valid - So its a legit number at least :)

    So I have a:
1982 XJ750 Maxim USA - Manufactured in Japan (duh)

EDIT: Engine numbers match. Very nice :p
