Don't think this has anything to do with the clutch issue I have, though maybe - thing is now there is gas bubbling out of a threaded hole above where it looks like the tach(?) wire runs into the engine body. Is there supposed to be something there? The gas is coming out pretty well. The bike does start up after sitting for a bit, but than shortly after giving it some throttle, it dies.

Don't think gas should come out of there. Oil maybe?

Got a stuck float flooding the engine case? I'm not at all familiar with the 400's.

LOL! Well that makes two of us. I just got into motorcycles. Always wanted to have one, but only had the means as of late. Bike had been working real well until I had a loss of power and subsequent issues.

This link should lead you to a manual for your bike.

I also think the hole you are talking about is where the bolt goes that hold the tach cable in palce.
