air jets question

    Hi all from MN,

    I goofed on my first carb dismantle/clean and didn't note which air get goes where before I had all of them taken out :x . I would assume the one with the larger hole would go on the air intake side of the carb since it would then be above the main jet.

    Anyone remember?

    The pilot air jets are larger, and go towards the front.
    The pilot FUEL jets are smaller, and also go towards the front.

    hope that helps....

    EDIT: you should put your bike's year and model in your signature, so we don't have to guess :mrgreen:

    Actually, the pic in my Haynes manual has the pilot air jet in the back (air box side) and the main air jet in front (engine side). Am I safe in assuming the main air jet would have the larger opening?

    No, the main AIR jet has a smaller opening than the pilot air jet..........exactly opposite of the size relationship between the FUEL jets.

    The AIR Jets are OPPOSITE of FUEL Jets:

    Main Air Jet = (o)
    Main Fuel Jet = (O)

    Pilot Air Jet = (O)
    Pilot Fuel Jet = (o)
